Murcia Airport is a rapidly expanding Airport on the shores of the Mar Menor Sea, in Murcia Southern Spain.

Over the last 5 years, the popularity of the Region of Murcia as a holiday destination to the Spanish as well as many other Nationalities has soared.  The Region has developed rapidly with fantastic New Golf & Beach Resorts being developed for this relatively new tourist area and for this reason Murcia Airport has expanded too.  With a Second Runway scheduled to open in March 2009, allowing flights to operate from Murcia Airport in the morning and afternoon, instead of just evening flights which some UK regional airports are currently restricted too.
